[00:00:01] John Wright: Welcome to the affiliate BI podcast. I want to talk about a topic that I find interesting and not a lot of people are talking about Which is why do online casinos close? I mean, this is important to affiliates for a lot of reasons But the most obvious one is if you're an affiliate and you've been promoting a casino for six months two years five years It doesn't matter if you've got recurring revenue happening with that affiliate program The second they close means you've lost that that that future revenue you've lost a digital asset so this is pretty important and it makes me think that it's like well our affiliates really aware of

[00:00:39] John Wright: The ingredients of why some casinos are more successful than others It's very difficult for any of us to see behind the scenes and kind of know what are the different factors that will contribute to casinos staying open and Basically not just staying open but honoring your revenue share deals where you actually do have lifetime revenue

[00:00:59] John Wright: Hopefully, you know years to come with different affiliate programs, and I think this has probably put a lot of pressure on

[00:01:07] John Wright: affiliates and operators where the affiliates are saying how do I know you're not going out of business and the reason why I say that is because We don't trust you in order to win your trust or to win our trust It's you have to pay flat fees and CPAs such that if you do go to the business they at least got their money So this is another part of the industry that's changed quite a bit in the last five years I mean, it's technically been around for a long time, but I think more fields are becoming smarter to go. Hey, we know we can

[00:01:34] John Wright: Put these kind of restrictions on operators on operators and basically say you're not getting a single click of traffic Unless you do X Y and Z usually the X Y and Z involves some sort of prepaid deals so what are the other things that contribute to you know lifetime rev share deals or

[00:01:54] John Wright: casinos not going out of business I think it's a lot of weird details in the background that people just don't spend a lot of time thinking about like Does the operator have more traffic outside of the affiliate segment like SEO traffic? So they're not fully dependent on affiliates Are they using tools like CRM tools like fast track or? Opt to move are they using bonus abuse tools like Greco for example Are they using any AI tools like Golden Whale or? Fieldstream dot AI to to know like hey, what's our player value and can we increase it? Like what are we doing? or other data tools like

[00:02:33] John Wright: You know partnership intelligence or humble for example I think once we start learning you know that these operators that are using these tools maybe there's a signature that they stick around and The other one I didn't even touch upon is the user experience or the VIP program or lack thereof I mean, you know do people go to warrior lab and ask for help with consulting to build out their VIP program I mean, I think when operators don't do these things. I think they're kind of opening themselves up to

[00:03:04] John Wright: getting exposed and not being able to grow and That kind of puts them in a position where if they're not able to grow then you know They're they're a couple bad situations away from having to shut down the business and once again that impacts affiliates So let me know what you think You know leave some comments wherever you're listening to this podcast or if you're reading it on social media I am going to be doing a presentation on why casinos close at Sigma Rome so that's gonna be an upcoming conference soon and

[00:03:34] John Wright: Yeah, it should be a great topic
